But before you fully switch into cruise mode, there are a few things you should take care of first. Getting these items out of the way early will make the rest of your cruise smoother and help you avoid long lines later in the day.
1. Complete the Muster Drill
The muster drill is the first thing you should take care of after boarding.
If you're new to cruising, the muster drill is a mandatory safety procedure designed to familiarize you with your muster station, the location you'll report to in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Many cruise lines now use an e-muster system where you watch a safety video on the cruise line's app or your cabin television and then check in at your assigned muster station. Other cruise lines may still conduct a more traditional drill.
Since every cruise line handles it a little differently, it's best to complete the process as soon as possible so you can enjoy the rest of your day.
